Each year the Dysfunktional Card company
donates a percentage of our proceeds to programs that support education,
prevention and aftercare for children and their families struggling with issue
of abuse and neglect. In the past, our recipients have been:
HAVEN
(Help
Against Violent Encounters Now) A non-profit organization
that provides direct services to victims and families experiencing
domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in Oakland County,
Michigan.

Child Abuse and Neglect
Council (Oakland County, MI) Serves children who are suspected of being
sexually abused or seriously physically abused. The goals of Care House are to
minimize the trauma to the child victims and their families, reduce the number
of duplicative interviews the child must endure, and increase the rate of
prosecution.

CARE House is a safe place where
a child’s voice is heard and healing begins. CARE House was
established to enhance the sensitivity and responsiveness of the
child welfare system, minimizing the impact of trauma and
providing vital therapeutic services for children and families.
At CARE House, the following
services are provided to child victims of sexual abuse and severe
physical abuse and neglect:

multi-disciplinary team approach

Court advocacy and orientation
The CARE House Intervention and
Treatment Program provides the community with a multi-disciplinary
team approach to the problem of child abuse, as well as a safe
environment for the child victim to be heard and ongoing support
for abused children and their non-offending family members. To
